Have you ever wondered what causes acne scars to form?
I have been through my own struggles and journey finding out the right answers. As the co-owner of Taut Haute, I have made it my life's passion to help others avoid what I went through with chronic cystic acne.
Up to 40% of acne victims tend to develop some scarring due to their condition. Hormones, pore diet, gut issues, inflammation, and overall environment factors. The good news is most superficial acne scars will heal on their own without leaving a mark.
Deep inverted scars unfortunately are formed due to trauma to the skin and surrounding tissue. This can become permanent if not addressed with the right professional treatments, homecare, and diet. You can recognize deep acne scars by the textural changes they cause in the skin. These are known as “pockmarks,” appearing as indentations or depressions that follow after a bout of severe or chronic acne.
Here at Taut Haute Skin Clinic we take a very carefully curated approach to each client's needs. Here are a few treatments we provide to get you to your specific goals to reverse acne damage:
Our PA-C cosmetic injector provides a treatment of Sculptra by Galderma that is a FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen, the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue for results that can last up to two years. Sculptra is injected all around the face multiple times over a three – four month time period.
Microneedling
On the other side of our clinic, our highly trained medical estheticians provide one of our most popular services that now only for acne scarring, but pigmentation and signs of aging as well.
By pricking the skin using tiny sterilized needles, we are able to create a controlled wound on the skin. This controlled wound triggers us to create tons of new collagen elastin bundles. Unlike laser treatments, microneedling is compatible with all skin tones and textures, as well as those prone to melasma(pregnancy mask). The treatment takes at most an hour to complete with numbing topical to prevent any discomfort. With most patients they see amazing results with as little as three treatments.
Exosomes
Exosomes are taking the industry by storm. We provide Benev Exosomes in addition to treatments. They are based on the most cutting edge scientific biotech breakthrough for skin rejuvenation and regeneration. Exosomes are responsible for cell to cell communication and for facilitating the exchange of RNA(Ribonucleic acid) and other important proteins between cells (e.g. fibroblasts, keratinocytes, immune cells, etc.), in addition to transferring numerous growth factors and cytokines and genetic materials that have shown signs of tissue repair and improving skin cells. By adding these to a microneedling treatment or a facial service, we can kick start the results to your acne scarring as well as overall skin health.
SkinBetter Science AlphaRet
Being compliant with a homecare regimen is absolutely essential. Retinol is a must have skincare ingredient regardless of scarring or not.
Retinol, a strong form of vitamin A, works to increase cell turnover in our skin. Normal cell turnover in the skin takes 28 days. With continued use of Retinol, we are able to cut this process in half at a rapid 15 days allowing for increased skin rejuvenation, healthy cell turnover, and deterioration of acne scarring.
The term “scarring” refers to a fibrous process in which new collagen is laid down to heal a full-thickness injury. Acne scars develop when there is a loss of tissue, resulting in an indentation in the surface of the skin.
