PRP (Plasma Rich Protein)
Did you know that you can use your own blood to rejuvenate your skin? Using your own cells, our Taut Haute Team can help you achieve a more youthful you.
About PRP (Plasma Rich Protein)

PRP Treatments utilize your own healing powers to rejuvenate and regenerate your complexion. After a quick blood draw, your platelets are isolated so that they may be injected or applied topically following an ablative treatment.
Platelets are specialized cells that are responsible for healing. They work to seal wounds and stimulate collagen and elastin production with no risk of allergies or adverse reactions.
Once the “liquid gold” is separated from the other components in your blood, it can be injected into trouble spots or applied over an entire area after microneedling for faster healing and better results, leaving you with healthy, more even skin.
The Details

PRP Treatments have been used in sports medicine for many years to speed recovery time following an injury. In many cases, patients have even been able to bypass surgeries as a result of the healing powers of these treatments. This same concept was then applied in aesthetics and yielded beautiful results in skin rejuvenation.
During the treatment, a small sample of blood is taken. Your blood is then placed in a device called a centrifuge, which spins the blood, causing the different elements to separate. Platelets are then isolated and removed from the rest of the sample for use in your preferred treatment method.
Within your body, platelets are responsible for helping to clot your blood when you have a cut or a scrape. When platelets are used in aesthetics, they work with your body to produce collagen and elastin. When injected, PRP will be concentrated in specific areas of concern to maximize collagen stimulation in that specific area. When applied during a microneedling treatment, PRP works with other cells in the body to form a mesh-like structure over the “wound” to stimulate collagen and elastin on the surface of the skin.
PRP can address a multitude of cosmetic concerns including, skin texture, fine lines, pore size, and even pigmentation.
Results Seen

Results of PRP treatments can be seen immediately in the form of reduced redness and increased healing after an ablative treatment.
Increased collagen production can be seen as soon as six to eight weeks post-treatment and can continue for months following treatment.
How to Prepare

Minimal preparation is required for PRP injections. Caffeine and aspirin use should be minimal for several days prior to treatment for best results.
